The Scandinavian Movement Disorder Society

The Scandinavian Movement Disorder Society called ScandMODIS is a non-profit organisation comprising neurologists from Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland and Sweden with a special interest in Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders.

Its goal is to increase the interest in Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders, as well as to improve the opportunities for research, clinical treatment and the training of researchers and physicians. The organisation has an advisory role in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease.

Upcoming

  • Meeting of the MDS Non motor symptoms study group, in conjunction with 13th International Movement Disorder Teaching Course. The meeting will take place at Hotel Alpin, Poiana Brasov, Romania, March 14-16th, 2024. The registration site is not yet open.
  • Scandinavian meeting 2024 will take place in Helsinki, Finland, April 26-27, 2024. The program is primarily adapted for people who regularly work with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders, such as neurologists, geriatricians, Parkinson’s nurses and people who do research in relevant areas.   • Next MDS International Congress will take place in Philadelphia, USA, September 27 – October 1, 2024.
