The Scandinavian Movement Disorder Society

The Scandinavian Movement Disorder Society called ScandMODIS is a non-profit organisation comprising neurologists from Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland and Sweden with a special interest in Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders.

Its goal is to increase the interest in Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders, as well as to improve the opportunities for research, clinical treatment and the training of researchers and physicians. The organisation has an advisory role in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease.

Upcoming

  • A new round of ScandMODIS Movement Disorder Specialist education is organized 2024-2027. The education targets new specialists in Neurology/Geriatrics, and those who are close to becoming a specialist. Contact your national organization for mor information on how to apply.
  • Scandinavian meeting 2024 will take place in Helsinki, Finland, April 26-27, 2024. The program is primarily adapted for people who regularly work with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders, such as neurologists, geriatricians, Parkinson’s nurses and people who do research in relevant areas. Registration takes place via personal invitations that are sent out by email. Contact organizer Tiziana Saraceno if you have any questions.
  • Next MDS International Congress will take place in Philadelphia, USA, September 27 – October 1, 2024.
